   Target audience, personal boundaries of each side, strength enough to deflect criticism and even threats of harm, understanding that ‘fitting into the mold’ is merely an adaptive behavior to survive the harsh realities of being alone, and lastly the importance or relevance to the immediate situation. These are among the points to consider before putting any thought into action.

   The old adage, ’silence is a virtue’ is arguably subjective. But certainly one must learn self control in order to effectively deal with obstacles before them, even in normal social communication. Without validating their viewpoints, I believe that fundamental christians feel the exact same way as you – frustration of having to trap their emotion and ideas inside or else risk the consequences of the seemingly harmless act of simply expressing themselves – risking being fired from their jobs, or becoming the next internet meme or subject of a comedy central/cartoon network short.

   I of course am exercising absolutely no self control as I post this comment, and the points worth consideration I’ve mentioned above admittedly seem to be very far from my mind at the moment, but somehow I feel compelled nonetheless. Really, I’m just gambling that it is succinct and coherent.
