Oh my goodness!

In the past four months or so I have been making major efforts to lose some of the 40 or so pounds I gained in the past three and a half years. I am doing very well, I must say! I weighed myself tonight and I weigh less than I have in nearly [...]

It’s cold and I am ready! :)

And in Missouri news…

This past Sunday, October 21st, 2007, the Stoddard County Sheriff department raided a dog fighting ring just outside of Dudley, MO. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes this as one of the largest dog fighting rings found in Missouri in recent years. 25 pit bulls and one beagle were found, along with two treadmills [...]

I began the Emperor’s Children, by [...]

My favorite films of all time… (1 - 4)

Numeros 1 – 4…
4. Inconvenient Truth – Watch this film if you have not. It is an eye-opening documentary about global warming, giving a dismal picture of the future, and sharing with the audience ways in which consumers can make a difference.
3. Dealing Dogs – One of the [...]

My favorite films of all time… (5 - 9)

Numeros 5 – 9…
9. Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner – A groundbreaking film in its day, confronting one of the most prevalent prejudices in that and this time, interracial relationships. Sidney Poitier did a wonderful job as did the rest of the cast.
8. Gandhi – Ben Kingsley did [...]
